Mr. Vu Manh Cuong – CTO Wilmar shared at CCloud Talk

The third CMC Cloud Talk program has the participation of Mr. Lam Duy Dien – cloud computing expert at CMC Telecom, and Mr. Vu Manh Cuong – CTO Wilmar. The two speakers had open discussions and shared about the application of cloud computing at Wilmar in particular and in the manufacturing industry in general.

According to Mr. Cuong’s share, if storing data on site (On Premises) as before, when there is a project Wilmar must go through procedures to order equipment from Dell, Lenovo,… to buy servers. The fastest ordering process takes 8 weeks. With CMC Cloud cloud computing service, it only takes 1’30 seconds to create a new server and put it into operation immediately. Besides optimizing costs, Wilmar also saves effort and most of the time for production, quickly responding to market supply.

Wilmar Group has been established for more than 30 years and is currently one of the largest enterprises in Asia in the agricultural sector. Besides palm oil-related business, Wilmar also has other business activities including refining cooking oil and sugar; Fertilizer production, grain processing… The Group currently has more than 500 manufacturing plants and distribution systems spanning more than 50 countries. The factory always operates 24/7, incidents can happen suddenly in the middle of the night, we need the technical team to respond immediately to restore production activities, minimizing system downtime. . Besides, IT will use many operating systems such as windows, linux, etc. The service provider’s server infrastructure must ensure the provision of servers compatible with all those operating systems. CMC Cloud has met all of our requirements,” Wilmar’s Chief Technology Officer shared.

In addition, according to Mr. Cuong, an equally important criterion for Wilmar to choose CMC Cloud is the cloud computing platform of CMC Telecom, one of the largest infrastructure providers in Vietnam.
