Mr. Le Minh Hieu – Deputy Director of CMC Telecom Technical Center became the third Vietnamese to own the CDCE (Certified Data Center Expert)

Mr. Le Minh Hieu – Deputy Director of CMC Telecom Technical Center has successfully completed CDCE (Certified Data Center Expert) Certificate in the Data Center design/build field and became the third Vietnamese to own the CDCE. CDCE is the highest level training in the Design and Build training track of EPI – the world’s leading and European origin company who offers an extensive range of Data Center infrastructure services. This certification certifies in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of the life cycle of Data Center: designing, building, operation, and retirement.

It took Mr. Le Minh Hieu two years to pass other compulsory certifications of Data Center design, which are CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional) and CDCS (Certified Data Center Specialist) to obtain the highest CDCE certification. Prior to the CDCE exam, all participants must take the training course in Thailand with EPI Data Center experts. These are the world’s leading experts in managing and operating big Data Centers in Europe such as Getronics, Datahouse (Netherlands), Global Switch (UK).

After the course, CDCE exam also challenged participants with a 60-question quiz and an essay of 25 sentences within 180 minutes. The results of the test must be over 75% to be fully accredited. It takes candidate many years of studying, accumulating practical knowledge from actually working at Data Center to get the certificate. In addition, candidates must have broad knowledge about Data Center, including 4 parts: structure, electrical systems, air conditioning, fire protection system and telecommunication systems. In the world, achieving this certificate is a requirement for all of senior experts who are working at Data Center of Microsoft, Google, Equinix, Amazon, Facebook, …

With the knowledge and skills acquired under CDCE, CMC Telecom’s expert is qualified at highest level to evaluate, design, build and operate Data Centers as international standard. Mr. Pho Duc Kien – CMC Telecom Deputy CEO emphasized: “Achievement of CDCE demonstrates the determination and efforts of CMC Telecom in training Technical Specialist Team, aiming to design and build Data Center to meet the highest standards regionally and internationally. This certificate will help CMC Telecom’s specialists to improve their consulting ability to provide optimal solutions and best customer support. Customers will be using and experiencing service as international standard.”

CMC Telecom currently owns 3 neutral Data Centers as per Tier III standards in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with total area of over 2500 m2, capable of containing more than 620 racks. CMC Telecom’s new Data Center in Hanoi, which was launched in December 2017 is the first and the only Data Center in Vietnam to have PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). PCI DSS standard is mandatory for enterprises which store, transmit and process payment cards.
