According to information shared with us earlier this afternoon, on 9/11/2017, Viettel said that the incident occurred on 7/11 on the AAG cable optical cable is a source fault (shun fault fault) between stations reaching the shore of VTU and BU4, about 35.89 km from the Vung Tau shoreline (VTU).

AAG international marine optical cable has a total length of 20,000 km and design capacity of 2 terabits per second, which directly connects Southeast Asia with USA. Launched in November 2009, this fiber optic cable will begin in Malaysia and terminate in the US, with landing sites in Mersing (Malaysia), Changi (Singapore), Sri Racha (Thailand), Tungku Brunei, Vung Tau (Vietnam), Currimao (Philippines), South Lantau (Hong Kong), Guam (USA), Hawaii (USA) … The cable branch into Vietnam is located in section S1 of 314 km.

Since its inception, AAG has had many problems. Only from the beginning of 2017 to now, this cable has 5 problems, on January 8, February 18, 27/8, 12/10 and most recently in the morning of 7 / 11/2017.
