Business on mobile platforms in Vietnam below potential

Reports on the number of Internet users in the Asia Pacific shopping on mobile devices in quarter 4/2016 from Portal Statistic shows that Vietnam currently ranks 8th with 29% while South Korea with 55% and head of China was second with 41%. Meanwhile the rate of Internet use in the world, Vietnam and China are 53%, respectively ranked 24th and 25th position in the world.

Mobile devices currently dominate e-commerce operations in Asia Pacific. There are 46% online sales made on mobile devices, and will reach 69% by 2020 in this dynamic region. Thanks to own multiple electronic devices ranging from the developed markets such as Hong Kong, Japan …, per capita income higher and infrastructure technologies to promote an increase in the use of mobile devices online consumer. Asia Pacific in the near future have full conditions to become a regional leader in e-commerce activities on mobile devices.

Internet penetration rate in Asia Pacific

2016, total revenue of ecommerce market Vietnam reached 1.8 billion US dollars and is expected to reach 2.1 billion US dollars in 2017 (about 45 thousand 440 billion Vietnam dong). With an annual growth rate of 16.5%, this market revenue could reach 4.1 billion US dollars in 2021.
