CMC Corporation has announced the “Go Global” strategy, Could you introduce a strategy for readers of Vietnam News?

CMC Global was established in March this year to promote the export of software and IT products. We would like to introduce the best CMC products to the international market. Previously, we worked with many foreign partners, but lately, we are determined to reach the global market ourselves. CMC Global will be our representative.

We will not only outsource but also IT services and products. Over the years, we have cooperated with many foreign partners, including Japan, Korea, Singapore, France, Germany and USA.

For example, we have built a lab for IBM Vietnam customers. CMC has also been selected by Honda Vietnam among other competitors to provide SAP ERP services. This has proved the quality of CMC when Japanese companies are mostly high demand customers.

With such experiences, we are confidently stepping out of the Vietnam border and coming to other countries.

On November 7, CMC Japan will officially launch in Yokohama. We received an investment license in August with a total investment of US $ 2 million. We expect to increase to $ 5 million or $ 10 million in the future.

By 2020, CMC Global expects to have between 1,000 and 1,500 employees. We also expect that CMC Global will bring CMC the same revenue as the domestic market.

After the Japan market, CMC will continue to expand its market to many Southeast Asian countries, including Singapore, Asian countries such as Korea, then to Europe and America.

CMC will inaugurate its first branch in Japan this month. Why did CMC choose Japan as its first market?

A report from Gartner last year shows that the value of software outsourcing in the Japanese market is about $ 30 billion a year. Therefore, there are many opportunities for technology companies as we invest.

We approached the Japanese market 10 years ago, but only outsourced. Our resolve was not strong enough at that time. Therefore, success and revenue are not many. As I mentioned earlier, CMC has had many Japanese partners, but we do not have any official branches here.

If opening a branch in Japan, CMC will easily connect with Japanese customers. For CMC Japan, not only Vietnamese people, we even use foreign human resources from Japan and China.

As a corporation managing more than 2,000 ICT technicians in Vietnam, how do you assess the level of ICT staff in Vietnam?

ICT human resources in the country lack both quality and quantity. In order to improve ICT human resources here, we need to have a policy of promoting more resources to invest in education, including individuals and businesses. We also need to innovate teaching methods. Vietnamese students need more opportunities to practice in practice.

There should be linkages between universities and businesses so that universities can produce employees to meet the needs of businesses while businesses can invest in school equipment. We have built a Research and Development Institute (R & D), an Innovation Center and we have a policy of promoting creativity.

To ensure the human resources for the global market of up to 1,000 – 1,500 people, CMC has built its own Research and Development Institute to train its staff. In the future, CMC hopes to connect with universities and colleges to be able to recruit more staff to meet our needs after graduation.

In addition to the Research and Development Institute, we also have the CMC Innovation Center, a place to connect and share ideas. We usually hold meetings to share research results. CMC also has a fund.

In 2008-2009, we invested in a company, now becomes CMC InfoSec, a leading network security company in Vietnam.

He can tell us about the latest achievements of CMC as well as the development strategy of the Group. What are the key areas that CMC wants to promote, especially in the context of the 4.0 industry?

At the moment, we are building a Group with a common innovation model that many companies around the world are adopting, such as Google.

In addition, we are transferring traditional service products to digitization. We will focus on building cloud platforms for enterprise customers.

The Fintech platform is one of our areas of interest. We are working with FE Funds and banks.

In the context of Internet development, there are more and more risks from information security. Therefore, CMC is also increasing investment to improve network security capacity.

Through 24 years of development and development, CMC is one of the leading corporations in Vietnam. As the leader of such a successful group, what is your advice to Vietnamese ICT enterprises in the integration period?

My advice to Vietnamese ICT companies or startups is that they should define their goals and pursue them.

One of the advantages of ICT over other industries is that there are no boundaries on the Internet. A company or start-up does not need a large investment for space or infrastructure. They just need one or more computers, working in simple places, even at home or at a coffee shop.

Also, it’s easy to reach users around the world by uploading your product to the iOS or Android platform. Thousands of users can view your product. It is important that if your product is good enough, it can easily spread and many people around the world will know about it. Flappy Bird is a good example.

CMC Group will open a branch in Japan. Could you share the goal of the project?

With more than 24 years of experience in the field of ICT and more than 10 years of outsourcing experience of CMC Corporation, CMC Japan was established with the goal of providing products and services with the best quality for customers. on the Japanese market. We believe that CMC Japan will meet the needs of Japanese companies in the areas of technology, automation, services and IT integration solutions with professional experience. .

Having worked for a long time in the field of ICT and has worked with many multinationals such as Oracle, IBM, CISCO, NetOne or EMC Japan, why are you choosing to work for CMC?

I am a person who likes challenges. With CMC, I recognize both opportunities and challenges. Prior to accepting the position of CEO of CMC Japan, I had the opportunity to visit and work at CMC Group and member companies such as CMC Soft or CMC Telecom. I appreciate CMC is not only a unit with 24 years of experience, one of the two leading ICT companies in Vietnam but also a young, innovative and disciplined organization. Conquering the Japanese market is a challenge, but I believe that CMC Japan and I will have many opportunities with the support of CMC Corporation and its member companies.

With your experience, what is your plan to develop CMC Japan?

I will try to make the most of my 30 years of ICT experience in Japan. I will wholeheartedly build and develop CMC Japan in line with the globalization strategy of CMC Corporation and soon become a leading company in providing ICT solutions and services in Japan market.

How do you assess the position of CMC Group in IT companies in particular and Vietnam in general?

I think Vietnamese IT enterprises have good capacity, especially the abundant, young and responsible manpower. For CMC, I realize that this is a technology corporation with strong internal strength with sustainable development and especially core competency as human. CMC people are young technologists who have core values of creativity, professionalism and teamwork.

Japan is a potential market for Vietnam’s ICT businesses. In your opinion, what are the strengths and difficulties of Vietnamese companies when approaching and developing the Japanese market?

In my opinion, the strength of Vietnamese enterprises when approaching and developing the Japanese market is abundant human resources. Japan currently lacks more than 100,000 IT engineers. This figure is expected to reach 230,000 by 2020, and 590,000 by 2030.

Therefore, there are many opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to provide human resources for the market. However, it is difficult to improve the quality of human resources to ensure they can maximize their deployment and creativity.

The second strength is that Vietnamese enterprises have capacity, products and services that are capable and comprehensive, capable of competing with enterprises in the Japanese market.

However, language barriers and culture are also difficult and challenging for Vietnamese enterprises, requiring them to try and improve.

CMC is one of the leading technology groups in Vietnam with 24 years of establishment and development. Organized as a parent company and 10 member companies operating throughout Vietnam and many countries around the world.

CMC has affirmed its position in the domestic market and moved to the regional and international market through key business activities such as system integration, software services, telecommunication-Internet, export and distribution of ICT products and e-commerce.

CMC is present in 63 provinces and cities nationwide and has cooperated with 21 countries around the world. CMC is the workplace of 2,200 IT technicians.

In 2016, CMC achieved sales of 193 million US dollars, up 19% over the same period last year.

Group revenue in the first six months of this year was estimated at $ 117 million, up 13 percent from the same period last year.
